It’s a smile with a snicker, it’s a joke that’s got a kicker
It’s a friendship filled with chipper, a tonic for life’s bickers
We laugh in joy, we feign with boys, or “kid” for acts immoral
A laugh is used to sing abuse, a joust in playground quarrels
Sticks and stones that lace laugh’s tones, are taunts that bullies poke
When tears are shed with what is said, a laugh is not a joke
Words too true and sadly too common in today’s world
