The Sticks that Bullies Poke

It’s a smile with a snicker, it’s a joke that’s got a kicker

It’s a friendship filled with chipper, a tonic for life’s bickers

We laugh in joy, we feign with boys, or “kid” for acts immoral

A laugh is used to sing abuse, a joust in playground quarrels

Sticks and stones that lace laugh’s tones, are taunts that bullies poke

When tears are shed with what is said, a laugh is not a joke
