A Window to Life

My fingers poised, pen in hand

Window frames a distant land

Penguins stride in pristine suits

Patterned socks fill shoe shined boots

Belt hugs bum, stuts got swag

Head is bound by black do-rag

Stroller pushed, toddler screams

Mother passes “sitter” screen

Tweeting teen, enthralled by phone

“Likes” appease time spent alone

Pushing life in shopping cart

Homeless man, spurs swarms to part

Beauty glides, a fur clad dame

Mink and jewels invoke no shame

A window seat for New Yorks’ stage

Arouses pen to stroke books page

Cafe Painting by Nicolas Jolly
