You’re the one I gaze too, when mind is seeking light
You’re the glow beneath the covers, the company at night
Addicted to your charm, chiming when in need
Veinless with a pulse, you’re faced, yet never bleed
Your sheen detracts from mine, a foe that is a friend
Your soul holds no regard, yet your ear I seem to lend
Pocketed for safety, lonely yet not alone
Silenced, never muted, you are my wretched phone
funny…..yes, beautiful days of ‘a pleasant companion’

This is so humorously true! Sometimes I wish it would not be so. But alas, it always is 🙂

Excellent, I think you’re right there!! 🙂 What would we do without them? But wouldn’t it be lovely to have the peace, and also free from worry about leaving it at home, or worse – somewhere where we can’t remember!
I was wondering if I could publish this very relatable poem in the next issue of an online literary magazine of mine?
It has seven issues (one new one every two months). There are no printed copies or any payment involved for myself or the writers – it’s a free magazine for anyone to read. The aim is to help promote writers on websites and blogs from all over the internet. https://thewritinggarden.wordpress.com/
Copyright remains with the writer and I always include a link back to where the work was originally published and also any other social media links you may wish to include (please let me know which ones – if you have any).
If you would be interested in allowing me to publish your work please check out the magazine and let me know. But if you’d rather not, don’t hesitate to say no, I really won’t mind.
Suzy 🙂
